NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS
MARICOPA COUNTY PY2020 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Maricopa County will hold two Public Hearings to obtain citizen input and comment on the PY2020 Annual Action. Interested parties may provide verbal or written comments. The meetings will be held on the following:
-Maricopa HOME Consortium meeting, Thurs. Jan. 16, 2020 at 9:30 A.M. in the Roosevelt Rm., 234 N Central Ave, 3rd Fl, Phoenix, 85004.
-Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) meeting, Wed. Jan. 29, 2020 at 6:30 P.M., Roosevelt Rm., 234 N Central Ave, 3rd Fl, Phoenix, 85004.
Annual Action Plan
Maricopa County is in the process of preparing the Annual Action Plan which covers U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funded HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG). The plan covers housing, community development, and homelessness needs and goals for the HOME, CDBG, and ESG funding between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021 (year 1 of 5 of the 2020-25 Consolidated Plan).
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to all qualified applicants that Maricopa County Housing and Community Development Division is accepting applications for funding under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) for affordable housing activities; and accepting applications under the HUD Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for homelessness activities.

Program Year 2020 Homelessness Activities:
Maricopa County Human Services Department is seeking applications from non-profit homelessness service providers which, when approved by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors (BOS), will result in one or more contract agreements to provide emergency shelter and rapid rehousing services to homeless individuals in Maricopa County.
Ÿ Maricopa County anticipates awarding an estimated $250,000 in ESG and $450,000 in CDBG funds from HUD.
Ÿ Applications are due no later than 5:00 P.M. on Monday, February 10, 2020.

Program Year 2020 Affordable Rental/Homeownership Activities:
Maricopa County Human Services Department (MCHSD) is seeking applications from for-profit or non-profit affordable housing developers which, when approved by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors (BOS), will result in one or more development agreements to increase affordable housing units in the Urban County. The Urban County includes Buckeye, El Mirage, Fountain Hills, Gila Bend, Goodyear, Guadalupe, Litchfield Park, Tolleson, Wickenburg, Youngtown, and unincorporated Maricopa County. Eligible activities include property acquisition for the purpose of affordable rental or homeownership (5 or less units), site improvements or rehabilitation associated with property acquisition, new construction, lease/purchase programs and demolition of substandard structures that have been vacant more than one year as part of a project that results in additional affordable housing units.
Ÿ Maricopa County anticipates awarding between $600,000 - $800,000 in HOME funds from HUD.
Ÿ Applications are due no later than 5:00 P.M. on Monday, February 3, 2020.
