The failure of a parent to appear at the Initial Hearing, the Pretrial Conference, the Status Conference or the Termination Adjudication Hearing may result in an adjudication terminating the parent-child relation of that parent. Failure to appear at the Initial Hearing, Pretrial Conference, Status Conference or Termination Adjudication Hearing, without good cause, may result in a finding that the parent, guardian or Indian custodian has waived legal rights and is deemed to have admitted the allegation in the Petition. The hearings may go forward in the absence of the parent, guardian, or Indian custodian and may result in the termination of parental rights based upon the record and evidence presented. 4. RESPONSE TO PETITION. You are not required to respond to this Petition, but if you chose to respond, you may do so by filing a written response or by appearing in-person at the hearing. If you choose to file a written response: a. File the original with the Court; b. Provide a copy to the office of the Judicial Officer named above; and c. Mail a copy to all interested parties at least seven (7) days before the hearing. If you object to any part of the Petition or Motion, you must file with the Court a written objection describing the legal basis for your objection at least seven (7) calendar days before the hearing date or you must appear in person or through an attorney at the time and place set forth in this notice of hearing.
