Request for Bids The Woolsey Flood Protection District, a political subdivision of the State of Arizona, requests sealed bids for earth channel restoration work in southwestern Maricopa County in the vicinity of Old Highway 80 north of the Town of Gila Bend, at the following site: Getzwiller Wash – Scope of Work The project begins approximately 4,600 feet west of the intersection of Getzwiller Wash and Old US Highway 80 and continues for approximately 1600 linear feet (lf). The bottom of the wash will be regraded. At the upper end, the contractor will tie into the existing wash bottom at an elevation of approximately 686 feet. The bottom of the wash will be regraded at a slope of 0.19% for 1600 lf and tie back into the existing grade at an elevation of approximately 683. The width of the wash bottom will be approximately 50’ wide and then will be regraded to match into the existing wash bank as quickly as possible to minimize the amount of fill material required. The earthwork required has been estimated as follows: Cut – 4332 cubic yards Fill – 8427 cubic yards Net Fill – 4095 cubic yards. Survey will be provided by the Woolsey Flood Protection District. The survey will indicate the beginning and end of the project limits, the center flow line of the work, and the 50’ width of the wash bottom. Bluetop stakes will indicate the finished grade of the work to be completed. The bottom of the wash will be graded smooth. Import fill material will be the responsibility of the contractor to locate. The district’s engineer shall approve the fill material. Pre-bid Site Inspection Meeting: 9 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the entrance of the Shrimp Farm (Milepost No. 5 on Highway 80, north of Town of Gila Bend). Hourly rates for use of equipment with operator and estimate of hours, with an estimated total cost to complete the work. Time period for completion of the work.
